INTRODUCTION
Peter Garner bequeathed a collection of photographs to his friend Tony Miller. They had lived only yards away as children. Prior to and during the demolition Peter had the presence of mind to photograph the immediate area near his home at 13 Bombay St. In the months leading up to the destruction of his home, many photos were taken of every room in his home, effectively leaving for posterity a very personal pictorial record prior to and during the 'demolition'.
A facebook group: St Anns Well Road Pre Demotion (1970) had been created in 2010 by Tony Miller to help preserve the memories of this area. A website was subsequently developed by joint admin Mavis Paskulich (nee Baker).
The assistance of Peter Richardson, (also a photographer and author of this area), was sought to process the many negatives and preserve the images. This he has done superbly. The archiving process has also been documented within this website) here
